The Tempest Auditions
Shakespeare at The George 2016 summer production will be THE TEMPEST – directed by John Shippey. The production will be performed from Tuesday 28th June to Saturday 9th July.
Shakespeare at the George is an ever-evolving company of actors and new People are always welcome. Open auditions will be held at The George Hotel, Huntingdon on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November between 10am and 4pm. To book an audition please contact the Director at tempest@satg.org.uk
NOTES:
Although there is only one main female part listed – Miranda – (in the masque in Act 4 three spirits appear as goddesses, but they only have a few lines each), there is quite a lot of opportunity (and precedent) for women to play parts named as men, so please use your imagination and don’t be discouraged!
‘The isle is full of noises’: hopefully quite tuneful noises – so for some parts, particularly the island spirits, we will be looking for those who want to sing as well as act.

Prospero – the deposed Duke of Milan
Miranda – daughter to Prospero
Ariel – a spirit, Prospero’s servant
Caliban – a native of the island, Prospero’s servant
Other spirits – under Ariel’s command
Those on the ship that is wrecked by the tempest:
Alonso – King of Naples
Sebastian – his brother
Ferdinand – son to the King of Naples
Antonio – Prospero’s brother, the usurping Duke of Milan
Gonzalo – an honest old counsellor
Adrian – a lord
Francisco – a lord
Trinculo – Alonso’s jester
Stephano – Alonso’s butler
Boatswain
