We have been monitoring the weather forecast to ensure that we do everything we can during this spell of exceptionally warm weather to look after the health of our audience, cast, crew and volunteers. At the moment the start time for the matinee performance remains unchanged at 2.30pm.
Please note that this does not in any way constrain any decisions made later on the grounds of cast, crew and audience safety as we will be continually monitoring the temperature.
With hydration being of vital importance in the heat, bottles of water will be on sale but we will also have a facility to refill bottles that you either bring yourself or buy on site.
There is a dedicated space with benches on the lawn nearest the Knot Garden. Although there is some natural shade from trees in both of these areas, we do still expect the heat to be strong.
As the hot and sunny day is predicted please come prepared with sunglasses, suncream & sunhat. Parasols/umbrellas are not permitted in the seating auditorium in consideration of other patrons but we reiterate that you should stay hydrated throughout your visit.
If you are anxious about the high temperatures, or have medical conditions that mean you should avoid excessive heat, we can exchange your ticket for an alternative performance (subject to availability) – please contact us through your booking email if you have any concerns.
You can find more details to help you plan your visit to Buckden Towers on the Plan your visit section of our website.
